Pyrocarbon Wrist Replacement
Pyrocarbon joint replacement surgery for end stage wrist arthritis is a good alternative to traditional total wrist arthroplasty or fusion.

This implant, called the Amandys, is a large pyrocarbon pebble that acts as a “spacer” device to maintain wrist joint height and soft-tissue tension, thereby preserving wrist motion and treating painful arthritis. Wrist motion can be relatively well preserved compared to fusion (see below).
