Dr Michael Maguire is the founder of Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists (SOS) on the Gold Coast, a multidisciplinary clinic focused on sports injuries, workplace injuries, and upper limb orthopaedics. With a Master of Sports Medicine and over 20 years of surgical experience, Dr Maguire blends sports performance science with precision surgery to help patients recover faster and return to peak function.

Dr Maguire specialises in treating active individuals—from professional athletes to weekend warriors—suffering from both upper limb (rotator cuff tears, tennis/golfer’s elbow, shoulder instability, nerve entrapments, and traumatic injuries and lower limb injuries (knee meniscal tears, cartilage damage and osteoarthritis). He is an expert in ultrasound-guided, minimally invasive procedures, offering advanced treatment options that minimise disruption to training and work.

At SOS, Dr Maguire works alongside physiotherapists and rehabilitation experts to deliver comprehensive, sport-informed orthopaedic care. He also collaborates with WorkCover, insurers, and GPs to provide clear treatment pathways and fast-track recovery for injured workers and athletes alike.

Meet Dr Adrian Pearce

An experienced orthopaedic doctor, Dr Adrian Pearce, has extensive experience in minimally invasive interventions and surgery of the hand and upper limb, as well as the management of sporting injuries.

Dr Adrian Pearce recently joined Maguire Upper Limb. He is a British-trained orthopaedic doctor with over 15 years of international experience and a special interest in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions. He provides surgical and non-surgical care, focusing on minimally invasive, evidence-based treatment.

Dr Pearce trained at the University of Manchester and the University of Melbourne and holds Membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He completed upper limb–focused training at centres of excellence in the UK, including Salford Royal and Royal Bolton Hospital.

He has published research in journals such as J Orthop Trauma and Bone & Joint Journal, and presented at major international conferences including FESSHEFORT, and BOA. His academic interests include hand trauma, nerve decompression, and surgical innovation.

At Maguire Upper LimbThe Carpal Tunnel Clinic, and the Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, Dr Pearce offers comprehensive care for traumatic and degenerative upper limb conditions, working closely with referring GPs and allied health professionals.
